The National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) is a National Urban League volunteer auxiliary that targets young professionals ages 21-40 to empower their communities and change lives through the Urban League Movement.
The Urban League, founded in 1910, is a charitable and educational organization. The Union County affiliate in Elizabeth was in founded in 1944. Leagues operate as community... service agencies using the tools and methods of social work to secure equal opportunity for minorities and other disadvantaged people. It is non-profit and non-partisan and interracial in its leadership and staff. It is the oldest bi-racial voluntary agency exclusively concerned with inner-city problems.
The National Urban League has 105 affiliates, including the Urban League of Union County. The League supplies information on the minority population, conducts surveys, training programs, secures jobs, motivates youth, and provides essential services in education, housing, health, welfare and child care."

MISSION
To provide a forum for young professionals (ages 21-40) to assist the Urban League of Union County in achieving its goals and to focus energies on community service, leadership, personal and professional development, social consciousness and economic empowerment.
VISION
To be the vehicle for change in the Union County community by serving as a training ground for members to both improve the community and to develop personally and professionally.
